A 2 day workshop with Katy Rundle to create a bee portrait using fabric collage and free motion embroidery.
The workshop will take place on the 26th and 27th September 2026, at my home studio in Marnhull, Dorset.
This 2 day course (10am - 4pm) will take the participant step by step through;
- the use of patterned design fabrics in collage, how to layer to portray a 3D image
- choice of background fabric
- the basics of free motion embroidery (N.B. Each participant will need their own sewing machine with free motion foot OR needle and thread for hand stitching)
- how to mount the complete textile art piece
A full detailed list of materials & equipment to be brought by each person will sent by email prior to the workshop (fabric, thread, sewing machine, scissors etc)
A minimum number of 5 people will be required for the workshop to go ahead
